This is a great read. Although this is the second in the series, this book can stand alone. C.A. Harms did an excellent job of writing this story so that it flows by itself. I haven’t read the first one, but you can be sure that it is most definitely on my TBR list! I loved how each chapter was dedicated to one characters point of view. You could really begin to see their relationship grow and deepen, as well as the growth of both Kole and Lexi. There were times while reading that I could feel the love they have for each other. It’s not just a story about love and overcoming the past. There are also some very steamy sex scenes ……….very HOT!!
Lexi is working hard to overcome trauma she went through. She loves Kole with everything she has. Lexi knows he loves her but she still is afraid of being hurt. She trusts him with her life but when his ex shows up, Lexi feels uneasy. As she struggles with these feelings, Lexi finds out her father didn’t abandon her like she had been told. Thankfully Kole and her friends are there to support her and make sure that she doesn’t shut herself away from them.
Loving Lexi and making her dreams come true is what Kole wants. He wants her to feel happy, safe and loved. Kole finds himself struggling with protecting Lexi and letting her grow from newfound strength. Miley, his ex, comes back to town and has her sights set on causing trouble and getting Kole back. Kole knows he needs to be honest with Lexi about Miley’s antics but he worries about her hurting and leaving him.
After all that Kole and Lexi go through, they realize that their love is strong and unwavering. The evolution of their love, trust and commitment to each other makes this a truly beautiful love story. And I adored that they got their happily ever after!!! A definite 5 star read!!!!
