Tbird’s Review

V is a woman who lives by the theory use before you are used.  We are not talking drugs or any other substance we are talking use people before they use you.  She was very upfront in the beginning, this was her plan so if you were shocked by her behavior then it was really your own fault for not believing her.

This book was unique in the sense that it felt like the main character was talking to the reader.  She was engaging us into the story and into her life.  I will admit, most of the book is nothing but hot sex and how she uses people to satisfy her needs.  It doesn’t appear to have a story plot at all, until you get to the end of the book.  That is when V sheds light as to why she is behaving this way.

It is a short story but packs a huge punch if you allow yourself to really listen to what she is trying to tell you.  You can’t expect a child to be used for most of her teenage life and not carry revenge and the strong desire to never be used again.  V was going to die early, she accepted that.  She had also decided those few years were going to be on her terms, not on the terms of the system or anyone else who decided they could hurt her.

It is very hard to put into words the message I carried away from this book without spoiling it for you readers.  What I would suggest is that you listen to V while reading it.  The author gave us one unique take on a character and her writing style is by far the most intense I have ever witnessed before.  Just when you think you are reading a lunch time erotic story the real message hits you and then you realize you were using V as much as she was using you.  As she said, she stole minutes of your life that you will never get back with her story.
