There was one question that kept coming to my mind as I read these four books. WHERE THE HECK WAS I WHEN THIS WAS FIRST RELEASED? I totally devoured this series in a matter of a few days because I just couldn’t put it down.  If I had to put this in a category of what I felt while reading this, it reminded me of a drama filled television show.  You had love, betrayal, attempted murder, murder, happiness, sadness.  Questions that needed to be answered, children having no clue who their parents are.  Lies, abuse, rescues, heroes, villians……….geez I am exhausted just thinking about the ride this series took me on.

So a short summary of this series from my point of view.  Tylar, young lady looking to put her past behind her, deal with unanswered questions, make a way for herself in life meets Trey.  Trey, youngest son of the family, lawyer, stubborn, handsome and possessive yet very charming saves Tylar from nearly drowning.  Story begins.  We travel through their insecurities, their games of hide and seek, their hot love scenes, to the point where they have finally figured it out.  Well they figured out they can’t be without each other but life keeps tossing them in land mines they have to navigate through.

Now we have Tristan, Trey’s older brother and Gina, Tylar’s best friend.  Oh come on you knew it was bound to happen, those two were meant for each other.  You have a sharp tongue Italian lady, a sophisticated Sinclair man who possesses a lot of the same traits as his little brother………it has to go smooth right?  Well if we had land mines with Trey and Tylar, I would say Tristan and Gina created a whole new kind of war. They were cute though, argue, fight, make up, love………wash, rinse, repeat. Don’t think for one minute their background stories aren’t important to read.  No wonder they have their own book in this series.

For fun, lets add an ex fiance of Trey’s, who falls in love with a family Sinclair family member, who happens to be married to an evil drunk witch.  Wonder what would happen when that drunk witch falls for a family member of the ex fiance while still married into the Sinclair family.  Head spinning yet?  Trust me, it makes for some wonderful family gatherings  which leaves Tylar’s head spinning and Trey thinking it was just a normal holiday.

We all know in every marriage there are in-laws, so lets discuss Tylar’s family now.  Her “mom” doesn’t want her so this makes Tylar more than happy to skip town after high school and lands her on the Sinclair ranch working with the horses. What happens when Tylar figures out who her father is?  What makes her have to track down her prom date who just happen to fall in love with her “mother” and is expecting a child with him.  Could it be that isn’t even her mother?  Oh the trail she takes to find the answers to these questions is intense, heart breaking and worth the victory dance when she pieces it all together.

As you can tell, I am in love with this series.  This author took many genres and transformed them into a series that could easily be put on tv as a series.  I spent many hours alone at night after the family went to bed reading for the sole purpose of finding out what happen next.  Just when I thought I had my heart rate back to normal, the author would pull the rug out with a new situation that captivated me instantly.  The characters are written so well, you not only love them, you feel they become your friend.  When Ty and Gina are having their BFF chats, you actually feel like you are sitting with them joking around about things.  When Ty is being a mom to Preston, you can feel her longing for her own mother and you know she is insecure because she is doing this by the seat of her pants.  No one ever showed her how to be a mom.

This series is a must read as far as I am concern.  It grabs you on page one and never lets you go.  My only regret is that I didn’t find it when it first was released, but then come to think of it, I might of seriously gone crazy waiting for the next book if I had been on board from the beginning.  I am not sure I would have kept my sanity during the wait.

Andrea Smith is an Ohio native, currently residing in southern Ohio.  Ms. Smith is the mother of two grown sons; grandmother of four.  The ‘Baby Series’ trilogy is Ms. Smith’s first self-published work.  Having previously been employed as an executive for a global corporation, Ms. Smith decided to leave the corporate world and pursue her life-long dream of writing fiction.
